340:110-3-288(c)(1)(A) | actions that could cause pain, such as shaking, hitting, striking with an object, spanking, swatting, thumping, pinching, popping, shoving, spatting, hair pulling, yanking, and slamming; | discipline - child physically disciplined by teacher while in care SERIOUS NON-COMPLIANCE | Children's New World West takes such concerns very seriously. On the very same day Ms. Hanes was made aware that an employee administered inappropriate discipline to a child, this employee was immediately terminated. Additionally, as a Plan of Correction, Ms. Hanes quickly conducted a staff meeting with all employees of the child care center to re-instruct these employees on the correct and proper way to discipline any and all children in their care. This meeting, included, but was not limited to a review of the DHS Administrative Rules, as outlined and described within the Requirements for Child Care Centers Administrative Rules: 340:110-3-288. Too, Ms. Hanes is certainly willing to share with her staff any and all supplemental materials the DHS may possess to continue to educate and constantly reminded her staff of the high importance of proper discipline of children. | Substantiated |
